Eric Alexander is a Christian world-class adventurer who has climbed six of the world's seven highest peaks. What makes his story even more unique is that he takes people with severe physical handicaps on his adventures with him. Recently he defied the odds and scaled Mt. Everest with his blind friend Erik Weihenmayer.

Getting our kids out the door each day for school is an experience that often feels like organized chaos. If you have smaller children in the home, I'm sure you can relate. So many things to remember and so little time to correct any mistakes, like forgetting homework or leaving lunch money on the counter.

I recently listened to evangelist Ken Freeman share his heart-wrenching story at an outreach event. Ken described how he endured at least 10 step-fathers growing up, and went through severe abuse of every kind before he was even a teenager. He was contemplating suicide before reaching adolescence, because his life felt so hopeless. After much reflection, Ken landed on one very good question: "Where was the church during all this?" Ken concluded, "They were busy being nice. But they never knocked on my door as far as I can remember."
