Bethlehem’s been in the headlines again this year as the scene of more Middle East violence. Strange. When Jesus was born there, the angels announced that His coming meant “peace on earth.”

Actually, a lasting peace agreement did begin in Bethlehem; not international peace, but the kind we’ve been looking for our whole lives–personal peace. Jesus came to end the turmoil in your soul by making possible peace with God. That angelic peace announcement also proclaimed that “a Savior has been born to you.” So, the peace begins when you begin your relationship with the Savior who died to pay for your sin.
