Hollywood is on a roll with superhero movies these days—Superman, Batman, Ironman, and Hancock. In a recent movie, Will Smith plays this not so super superhero named Hancock. Well, to sum it up, he’s got these super powers, but he’s just plain selfish. He just doesn’t get how much good he could do with the powers he has.

I’m Ron Hutchcraft and I’m realizing that a lot of us ‘Jesus followers’ have a little of Hancock in us; the divine capability to make a much greater difference with our life than we are making and to leave a legacy of a life that matters. There’s an amazing description of who you really are in the Bible as told by the One who created you, “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10 ).

Now God has wired you as His workmanship for spiritual greatness. He’s created you with the unique personality and gifts and background and capabilities so you can touch and change lives for Him. He wired it into you when He made you, and then it all got turned on when Christ came into your life. Living just for yourself or settling for ordinary—you’re missing your destiny and the difference you were put here to make.
