Download MP3 (right click to save) When he visited the U.S. recently, the Pope said that there was something he felt shame over. It was the priests who abuse their position by abusing children. He said that harms not only the church, but of course it harms the name of Christ, too. Well I was thinking, they’re not the only ones who’ve made people disillusioned spiritually. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and you know many people have rejected Christ because of the hypocrisy of someone who claimed to be a Christian. It might have been a fallen pastor or televangelist. It could be a Christian leader. Maybe just a Christian friend or family member they knew, and it could be that a Christian hypocrite is the reason that you’ve stayed away from Jesus. Well there’s some great news in this simple invitation Jesus gave over and over to people. He said, “Follow Me” (Mark 1:17). Well that’s what it’s all about. I like what He didn’t say. He didn’t say, “Follow My leaders,” or “follow My followers,” or “follow My rules.” He said, “Follow Me.” So it’s all about Jesus. In fact, the Bible says it’s all about, “nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). So there’s only one reason to reject Jesus, and that is if there’s something you don’t like about Jesus. When you do reject Him, you reject two things that only He can give: A life that matters here, and a life that lasts forever in heaven. So base your choice about Jesus on this: He loved you enough to die for you, and He was powerful enough to walk out of His grave under His own power; and it’s all about Jesus.
