It rained in our area a few days ago like I thought it would never stop, and we’ve got a lot of low spots in our area. And they’re just not ready for like nearly a foot of rain in a day. I kept hearing news of vehicles that had been swept away on low water bridges. The weather man kept coming up with that saying, “Turn around—don’t drown.” Still, you know, people got in and they didn’t realize how deep it was and suddenly they were swept away.

I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and I’ve actually seen that same thing happen to people that I care very deeply about…except they got swept away morally. They didn’t mean to; they didn’t realize the depth of what they were getting into. And suddenly they were in deeper than they ever imagined, and they were swept farther and deeper than they ever thought they would go—a long way from a life that matters. That could be happening to you.

For example, one survey I saw recently, 70% of American men are involved with internet pornography; not realizing, I guess, until it’s too late that they’re in too deep to escape. It’s a habit that pollutes the real thing, real love, real sex. It chains the one who’s doing it; it crushes the one who loves them.

It’s like Jesus said, “Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin” (John 8:34 ). But then He said, “If the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36 ). The good news is Jesus has the power to rescue from any sin prison, and I encourage you to do whatever you have to do to turn around so you don’t drown.
