Download MP3 (right click to save) John Odom has given the name ‘Batman’ a whole new meaning. He’s a minor league pitcher drafted by a Canadian team who couldn’t get him across the border. They tried to unload him for whatever they could get in return and they finally made a deal with a U.S. team for ten bats. John Odom went for the equivalent of $600. It’s got to be embarrassing. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and hey, we should be glad no one ever put a price tag on us, huh? Or have they? Maybe you think you don’t matter. People have undervalued you. Well if you don’t think you matter, you won’t go after a life that matters. It’s hard to believe you’re worth much when you’ve been betrayed and abandoned and called names and passed over and abused. The only One though who knows what your value is, is the One that created you. In the Bible says, “You were bought at a price” (1 Corinthians 6:20 ). And then, speaking of Jesus, one Bible writer says, “He loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20 ). That’s the price. The bottom line on you: God spent His one and only Son on you because that was the only way to keep from losing you forever. Because all the sins of our life have made it impossible for us to have a relationship with a perfect God or go to His heaven even. There’s only one way to have our sins erased. The penalty had to be paid and He loved you. You can stand at that cross and say, “For me,” and you’ll finally know how priceless you are, how very much God loves you and how much you need His love. We would love to help you experience that love for yourself. Our website is there for that reason. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org. God put you here to live a life that matters.
