Download MP3 (right click to save) My sons love roller-coasters and I love my sons, but they’re crazy; they didn’t get this from me. I was at one amusement park where I saw a rollercoaster I really had zero interest in. There were two lines and two signs; one said forwards, the other said backwards. It’s going backwards? Why would I want to keep looking at where I’ve already been? I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and you know, life is bound to be a roller-coaster if you keep looking back. A life that matters is focused on where you’re headed, not where you’ve already been. Now God’s got something to say about this in the Bible. He puts it this way, “Forget the former things: do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18-19 ) You know you can totally miss the new thing God wants to do in your life because you’re dwelling on the pain of your past. God wants to heal you from the hurts of the past. Jesus said, “The Lord has sent Me to bind up the broken hearted” (Isaiah 61:1 ). He wants to help you deal with that pain, and even to forgive if that’s what’s needed to be free. He wants you to be free to spend the rest of your life riding in the car that looks forward to His plans for you without the crippling baggage of the past. A life that matters is focused on where you’re headed, not on where you’ve already been. We want to encourage you to move into God’s new thing and our website really can help you do that, I think. Would you go there and visit there today? It’s ALifeThatMatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Isaiah 43:18-19 ; 61:1 |
