Download MP3 (right click to save) I can’t help it, this time of the year I think about Ocean City, New Jersey. That was our family’s favorite summer place on the East Coast. We used to go there every year with a big youth conference; and of course the conference would take advantage of the beach. They had this massive sandcastle competition, and the young people there made these amazing characters and structures out of sand. Of course, it didn’t matter how amazing they were, they were all gone the next morning because the tide erased everything they had built. That’s a disappointment many of us feel some time or another. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and I guess you could define sandcastle this way—something you put a lot of effort into that doesn’t last—like a relationship maybe, a career, a marriage, a goal that meant a lot to you. Maybe you’ve watched the tide take out something that you put a lot into. You know that makes us keenly aware of our need for something—well actually, Someone that you can’t lose. That’s why I love this promise from the Bible, “Nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord” (Romans 8:39 ). God is offering us in a relationship with Him one anchor relationship that will never desert you, never divorce you, never die on you, and you can count on it because He died for your sin so He wouldn’t lose you. Now if you’re ready for that kind of anchor love in your life, we’d love to help you begin a relationship with Him. You can find out how at our website. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Romans 8:39 |
