Download MP3 (right click to save) I don’t know what you see when you see Christians, but a recent George Barna survey of younger generations shows us clearly what they see. It will not make your day. They described us as too political, as hypocritical, sheltered, and judgmental among other things. Now we can argue it’s not true. We can’t argue that it is what they see. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and while many followers of Christ are the real deal in trying to be like Jesus, all too often Christians can be a reason for not coming to Jesus rather than a reason for wanting Him. That’s why the perspective of the first century’s most powerful Jesus-ambassador is so important. Paul wrote, “I resolve to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2 ). Now that pretty much sums up what this Christian thing’s really all about. It’s not about Christians, not about Christianity; it’s all about Jesus and His amazing love demonstrated by His dying so horribly for us on a cross. When we add politics or church or denomination or condemnation to that, we’re encumbering the Gospel with baggage that lots of lost people will never get past. It’s serious business to complicate the Gospel with anything other than Jesus and Him crucified. And if you’ve been letting the hypocrites keep you from Jesus, remember it’s all about Jesus. He’s the One who died for you. He’s the One you’ll meet when you die. He’s the One who can give you a life that matters here and heaven when this life ends. The question isn’t what will you do with Christians, it’s what will you do with Christ? We’d love to help you answer that question. Go to our website today, would you?
