He was in Denver when the police found him, and the thing about him was he had amnesia, couldn’t tell them anything about his background or his identity. So they finally, in desperation, put him on television and he said this: “Can somebody please tell me who I am and who I belong to?” Well, somebody called—someone who knew him—and she helped him find his way home. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and you don’t have to be without a home or a memory to need those same answers, “Who am I and who do I belong to?” Those soul questions are bottom-line for living a life that matters, and they’ve driven people to look in relationships and recognition and even religion to find answers, only to leave us still haunted by that homeless feeling. The only One who can tell you who you are and where you belong is the person who made you. Speaking of Jesus, the Bible says you and I were created, “By Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16 ). Now the meaning of my life, the identity I hunger for is all wrapped up in the Jesus I was made by and made for. The reason for the emptiness inside is because we don’t belong to the One we were made for, but that took an unthinkable sacrifice on His part, pouring out His life on a cross to pay for and erase the sin that has made a relationship with Him impossible. And maybe He’s calling you today, saying in your heart, “I’m ready to show you the way home.” Don’t miss Him. We want to help you get connected with Him. That’s what our website is for. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Colossians 1:16 Learn how to share these articles with your friends (video tutorial) |
