Download MP3 (right click to save) My son called the other day, and he said, “Dad, I’ve just had the day I dreamed about since the day I got married.” He took his two-year-old daughter to Disneyland in her Minnie Mouse dress, and I tell you the pictures are enough to make this grandfather want to get on a plane right now and go hug her. Well, the highlight for her was a place they call Mickey’s House. It’s got all kinds of fun things to see and do, but she didn’t stop for any of those. She ran all the way through the house, past all these attractions, and went straight to Mickey Mouse and hugged him. Because he was all she really wanted to see. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and my precious two-year-old granddaughter actually taught me something that day. Not about Mickey Mouse, but about belonging to Jesus. It’s all about running past all the attractions and distractions in my life to be with Jesus. I wish I could say I’ve always done that. Too many times He’s gotten pushed to the edges of my busy schedule. I can get so immersed in all I have to do that I don’t get to the One who loved me enough to die for me. But a life that matters is anchored to a daily Jesus time that’s non-negotiable—the highest priority of my personal schedule. He asks you and me the same bottom line question He asked Peter, “Do you truly love me?” (John 21:16 ) If we love Him, we won’t give up time with Him for anything. We will in Jesus’ words, “Seek first the kingdom of God” (Matthew 6:33 ) by seeking first our time with the Lord who loves us most. It’s all about running straight to Jesus, and then you check out everything else. We’d love to help your relationship with Him go deeper if you’ll just visit our website. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org, because God put here to live a life that matters.
