Download MP3 (right click to save) I bet you love watching those psycho parents at their kids’ sports events. Well whether you do or not, you might enjoy hearing what happened to my friend, Chuck, the other day. He’s watching his son who hit a long ball between center and left, and he’s on the third base line—he’s yelling to his wife on his cell phone, trying to tell her what’s happening—and he said, “Here he comes. He’s crossing home, it’s a homerun. He’s safe. He’s out!” She said, “How can he be both?” He had failed to touch third base. He thought he was safe; he was out. He’s not alone. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and when you read your Bible, you realize a lot of people are in that position spiritually. They think they’re safe; they’re going to be out. Jesus talked about religious people who will say to Him on Judgment Day, “We ate and drank with You, and You taught in our streets.” But He will reply, “‘I don’t know you.’ There will be weeping there when you see Abraham, Isaac, and James in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out” (Luke 13:25-27 ) and that’s sobering stuff. Moral of the story: It’s possible to have lots of Christianity and miss Christ; to miss the one base that counts. That time in your life when you consciously grab Jesus as your only hope of having your sins forgiven and going to heaven when you die. If you’re not sure you’ve had a time like that, you can be today. You can say, “Jesus, I’m Yours.” Because Judgment Day is an awful time to find out you weren’t safe like you thought you were—you’re out. We’d love to help you begin this relationship with Jesus this very day. Go to our website, would you? It’s ALifeThatMatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Luke 13:25-27 {/bible) |
