Download MP3 (right click to save) Remember that famous Andy Warhol quote, “Everybody gets their fifteen minutes of fame?” Well, two guys in San Francisco must have been pretty desperate for a little notoriety. They flipped through the record book searching for something they could be the best at, and they found it. They shook hands for nine and a half hours, and they broke the record. Okay, this is where you’re supposed to wildly applaud. I’m Ron Hutchcraft. Now, the example may seem a little crazy, but the impulse behind it is something inside all of us to make or to leave some kind of mark with our life; to live a life that really matters. Now, God’s shown us the ultimate mark we can make. The Bible says, “Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” Okay, now everyone we know is headed for one of two eternal destinations: one awesome, one awful, but you and I can actually help people we know change their eternal address. The Bible goes on to say, “Those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever” (Daniel 12:2-3 ). Now that is immortality. God has invited us to join Him in the rescue mission for which His Son died. Now how do you lead someone into a life saving relationship with Jesus? Well, it’s like first grade; you show and tell. You show the difference Jesus makes by the way you live. Then you tell the difference He’s made through your personal hope story and then you tell them what Jesus did on the cross for them. They’ll never guess the Gospel; you’ll have to tell them that. Your legacy—someone in heaven with you because you cared. Hey, our website is all about helping you be a rescuer. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Daniel 12:2-3 |
