Download MP3 (right click to save) September 11, 2001—Ground Zero—Genelle Guzman almost made it out before the towers collapsed—almost. In a matter of moments, most of her body was trapped under debris. She was sealed into this dust-filled tomb with dead victims all around her. She had been there for 28 hours when she said, “God, please don’t let me die. Please, save me.” About an hour later she heard sounds above her in the rubble and then a hand reaching through the rubble and grabbed her hand and said, “I’ve got you.” Genelle Guzman was the last person pulled out alive at Ground Zero. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and when I hear the word ‘rescue’ I think Ground Zero; someone breaking through to a person who would otherwise die. Someone did that for me. His name is Jesus. He is the ultimate Rescuer from the ultimate hopeless situation. The Bible says you and I are, “Without God and without hope,” (Ephesians 2:12 ) because of hijacking the running of our life from the God who gave it to us, and then Jesus came. The Bible describes His mission this way: “The Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10 ). See, that’s you and me. Saving us wasn’t cheap, it cost Jesus His life. Dying on that cross, absorbing all the hell for all our sin, He reaches for the one He died for, and when you grab His hand as your only hope of being forgiven, of having a life that matters, of going to heaven, you are rescued. This could be the day Jesus can say to you, “I’ve got you,” and He’ll never let you go. We’d love to help you get started with Him at our website. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Ephesians 2:12 ; Luke 19:10 |
