Download MP3 (right click to save) Oh, it has been exciting to fly commercially this summer, hasn’t it? Man, lots of airport adventures, war stories. You know over the years I’ve had some sad moments watching the baggage carousel for my bags—not there. Now sometimes we see a few bags that just keep going around and around. You get pretty tired of seeing the same old baggage going around and around. I’m Ron Hutchcraft and it is sad how many of us actually live that way. You know, watching the same old baggage of our life going around and around again. We keep replaying the hurts and the pain and we keep ourselves from the hope that inspires a life that matters. And we just keep feeding our resentment and our anger and our depression, our dark side, and that only hurts us. Jesus once asked a man who’d been paralyzed his whole life this strange question, “Do you want to get well?” (John 5:6 ) Well, He might be asking you the same thing because sometimes we’d rather just keep going with the same old baggage than doing what it takes to get free. That freedom comes with three courageous steps. First, you got to face it. You open up the dark closets; you get it out in the light. Maybe with the help of a trained counselor, and then you fight it. You take whatever healing steps you need to take to fight it instead of surrendering to it, and then you forgive it. You’ll never be free until you forgive the people who wronged you like Jesus forgave you. It’s time to ditch that baggage forever. If you’re looking for some real life answers, I’d invite you to our website. They’re there. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: John 5:6 |
