Download MP3 (right click to save) Our granddaughter usually sleeps peacefully through the night until recently, and then she just kept waking up crying, I think because she was scared. Well her Mommy put a carving of Jesus on one side of the room and a picture of Jesus on the other side and right in front of our granddaughter a picture of Jesus holding a little girl that looks a lot like her. Well she slept the whole night and she woke up, pointed to the picture, and her first words the next morning were: “Jesus holding me.” I’m Ron Hutchcraft and that’s the way to rest peacefully when you’re going through a scary time—surround yourself with Jesus. When we’d put our kids to sleep at night, we’d sing to them “Safe am I in the hollow of His hand.” You know fear has caused so many people to retreat and abandon what could have been a life that matters. It’s so good to get in the habit of going to sleep thinking about Jesus and training yourself to praise Him when you wake up in the morning and quote His promises, practice His presence all day long. Listen to this awesome promise for the next time you’re afraid or anxious or about to sink. “Fear not, I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned—For I am the Lord your God, your Savior” (Isaiah 43:1-3 ). Now your job is to believe that; to trade your anxiety for His peace, and then in the longest night, the loneliest night, the deepest darkness, you can know you’re safe because, “Jesus holding me. Hey, there’s more about a relationship with Him at our website. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters. This radio program references: Isaiah 43:1-3 Learn how to share these articles with your friends (video tutorial) |
