Download MP3 (right click to save) If you’re like me and you travel a lot, you’re not so thrilled when the news is about the latest problem they’ve discovered in commercial aircraft. But I love the story that a veteran traveler friend of mine told me. He had been told to avoid this one airline in this one foreign country. Well, he couldn’t do it; he had to get on this one flight. He got on and he noticed that the seatbelt was already buckled in the seat and he thought, “Well that’s a little different,” but he sat down, unbuckled it, buckled it again, only to learn it wasn’t attached to the seat. He said, “I wasn’t about to tell anybody because I had to go on that flight.” He even tried to let down the tray table for his computer and it just kept going, it wasn’t attached either. So he’s sitting there with the seatbelt that doesn’t really attach, looking secure. Of course it was the illusion of security. I’m Ron Hutchcraft, and that is actually a mistake a lot of us have made on a much more important level; finding emotional and spiritual security as a foundation for a life that matters. Many of us can look back on things that we thought would make us secure, but they let us down, the relationship we always thought would always be there, the job, or our religion has disappointed us. We need something we can never loose. Well, the Bible says about Jesus, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:19 ). The Bible says we’re created to belong to the One who created us, who will never desert us, or divorce us, or disappoint us, or die on us. In Jesus words, “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5 ). If you’re ready for an unlosable relationship like that, let me invite you to visit our website, there’s a lot of help there on getting started with Jesus Christ. It’s alifethatmatters.org because God put you here to live a life that matters.
