Download MP3 (right click to save) Our three-year-old granddaughter went with her beloved uncle to Disneyland, and she wanted to ride the Dumbo ride. Now, in case you had a deprived childhood, Dumbo was the elephant with the big ears that enabled him to fly, of course. The Dumbo ride; well you climb into your Dumbo car, and as he goes in circles you push the bar and it will take you up higher so you can fly like Dumbo. Well her uncle was ready to take it up, but our granddaughter insisted that they stay where they were. All the other Dumbos were flying high; our granddaughter and grounded uncle stayed at the bottom. I’m Ron Hutchcraft. I couldn’t help but think how many of us do that spiritually; we settle for where it’s safe. We miss the view that only comes from taking the risks to go higher. Could be God’s trying to take you into an exciting new chapter; a whole new level of a life that matters, but you’re holding back because you want to stay where it’s safe, where it’s comfortable. So many people have missed God’s best because they made staying safe more important than obeying God. That’s a big mistake. Peter and Andrew’s life took off the day Jesus said, “Follow Me,” and it says, “at once they left their nets and followed Him” (Mark 1:17-18 ). Following Him is so worth it, no matter what security blanket you have to leave behind. Sometime today I hope you’ll check out our website. There’s so much more there about making a greater difference with the rest of your life. It’s ALifeThatMatters.org, because God put you here to live a life that matters.
